Welcome to the official website of HUNG - HUNGROCKS.COM

Hung play progressive death metal, accentuated by a lead violinist. Now most people will read that and think, "Oh God, someone made a horrible meshing of Opeth and Yellowcard." In thinking that, you'd be half right. Hung definitely have a lot of Opeth worshiping going on, but the addition of a violin isn't gimmicky and, in fact, gives the band a very classical feel.

Over the course of the 5 tracks on their self released debut, Progeny, the band covers all of the death metal bases--harsh vocals, violent growls, epic track lengths, light speed shredding, and melodic slowdowns interspersed throughout. This isn't to say the band is simply an also-ran, because they're not, but discerning listeners should know that just because there's a violin in the band they're not going to get any less death metal goodness. If anything, the alternating between violin and guitar for the band's solos is a very unique trait that is executed extremely well. It's not often something interesting and new comes along, so take this chance to give Hung a listen.
